Another Tuesday, another chance to start your day right with a news-filled breakfast. And, as the saying goes, breakfast is the most important thing you'll do today.
- Frenemy: that's what Ryan Braun might call his former friend who filled a civil suit against him in late July for defamation. The former friend, Ralph Sasson, is alleging a cornucopia of wrongdoings on Braun's part, including defamatory comments Braun made after their relationship soured over a business deal. What business deal? Sasson alleges Braun was supposed to pay him for research he conducted during Braun's first doping inquiry in 2011.
- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie "reluctantly" signed legislation that would ban gay conversion therapy.
- The Guardian has revealed that the British government tried in vain to stop the reporting of the Snowden leaks by smashing hard drives stored in the basement of The Guardian's offices.
