What's new, gastronomically speaking, at our French street festival.



It’s July? How did that happen?... Up next on the chopping block of local events is Bastille Days (July 10-13), street festival par excellence. If eating and ambulating on East Town streets are on your mind, the choices are quite international. Fishbones (Cajun), Hué (Vietnamese), Rudy’s (Mexican) and Saz’s (barbecue) are among the 25 vendors. New to the list this year is Lake Park Bistro, offering simple fare such as sandwiches (croque monsieur, country pork paté sandwich) and desserts/pastries (crème brulée, chocolate croissant). 


The other area of food interest is the Beaux Arts Stage, the setting for the chef and beer, wine and whiskey demos. Chefs on the demo docket include Patrick Murphy (of Le Rêve Patisserie & Cafe), Cole Ersel (Wolf Peach), AJ Dixon (Lazy Susan), Yollande Deacon (Afro Fusion Cuisine), Jacob Schick (Maxie's) and Miles Borghgraef (Lake Park Bistro).
