Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center Will Close
Several animals still available for adoption.
The Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center at 5217 S. 51st St. in Greenfield has announced its "intent to cease operations."
Milwaukee ARC has operated since 2005, with the goal of securing permanent placement for homeless animals while helping other agencies find animal euthanasia alternatives. But in announcing the pending closure, ARC's Amy Rowell noted that concerns about the endeavor's financial sustainability led to the decision to close.
ARC still has several animals that it is trying to place. Early this afternoon, its website listed about 25 dogs and cats available for adoption.
