  • Germany defeated Argentina 1-0 in extra time to win the World Cup. Mario Götze scored the winning goal. Grantland's recap looks at at Götze and four more "important characters" from the match. 
  • Epic Systems Corp. has reportedly added 600 jobs since February. The Madison area electronic health records giant has grown from 4,200 employees in 2011 to 7,200 employees now. 
  • Eight-year-old Caleb Teisl from Make-A-Wish Wisconsin threw a perfect strike with the first pitch at Miller Park on Sunday. 
  • Today marks 15 years since "Big Blue" collapsed during the construction of Miller Park. Three ironworkers -- Jeffrey Wischer, William DeGrave, and Jerome Starr -- died in the June 14, 1999, accident.
