Dr. Andrew Campbell is pleased
to announce the new product offering, ThermiRF, a minimally invasive skin
treatment that tightens sagging skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines
and wrinkles, especially in the jawline, neck and chin areas. It also reduces
fat and tightens the skin of loose arms, wrinkly knees, as well as the abdomen
ThermiRF offers three different
types of procedures. ThermiSmooth is designed to tighten and smooth the skin of
the neck, chin and jawline in areas with mild to moderate laxity. It’s
extremely effective due to its collagen stimulating capabilities. ThermiRase,
could be considered similar to a long-term Botox injection. It provides
long-term nerve ablation, relaxing facial muscles that cause unwanted wrinkles,
lasting for up to two years. ThermiTight is used for fat reduction, contouring
and skin tightening purposes. The RF energy reduces volume in areas such as the
upper arms, axillary fold, love handles and knees while simultaneously
improving skin laxity, giving skin a leaner and sculpted contour.
How it works?
local anesthetic is applied to the treated area and a tiny incision is made
with a needle. A tiny probe is then inserted into the area emitting a
controlled amount of thermal energy to accurately heat the tissue. The tip of
the tiny probe provides constant feedback of the actual temperature during
treatment while an infrared camera is used to monitor skin temperature to
ensure safety and effectiveness. Depending on the settings, the closely
monitored temperatures can cause nerve ablation, the destruction of small areas
of undesirable fat, and even improve skin laxity. ThermiRF is a simple
procedure that’s done in-office and generally lasts 30-60 minutes.
Following the procedure, most
patients enjoy daily activities. Exercise and vigorous activities are not
prohibited, but patients may take 1-3 days off from work while the treatment
area recovers. Mild swelling lasts from
3-7 days. Results improve over the course of 6-12 weeks as collagen production
increases and the body flushes out unwanted fat.
Other non-invasive uses
may also be used as a non-invasive skin tightening device which is not inserted
under the skin. Using the device in this manner requires no downtime. A nurse
or esthetician may perform skin tightening.
