You know what makes a 50-degree, drowned-rat kind of day better? Envisioning a sunny, 80-degree day at a rooftop farmers market. It just requires a bit of patience. This year, just such a market will be the Saturday attraction (June 1-Sept. 17) at 130 W. Bruce St. in Walker’s Point. Building tenant CORE/El Centro is expecting a motley group of vendors at the weekly event, which will include produce grown in the rooftop garden. CORE/El Centro -- a bilingual national healing center -- also intends to have vendors selling items such as cheese, eggs and poultry, baked goods (muffins, tortillas) and beverages like coffee, tea and juices. Hours: 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (In case of rain, the market will be moved to the lobby on the building's first floor.) Recently named a Top Ten Green Project by the American Institute of Architects the bulding is also home to Clock Shadow Creamery and Purple Door Ice Cream.
