New Thai Restaurant Opens on East Side
Farwell is not far to travel for Mussuman curry.

Curry for Elephants

Elephant Café is finally up and at ’em. The new Thai restaurant (1505 N. Farwell Ave., 414-220-9322) is a little establishment with six tables and a small bar. Elephant’s owners know a thing or two about pad siew. They also own EE-Sane, located just up the street (at 1806 N. Farwell Ave.). The menu size is rather elephantine. A few nuggets from the list, in no particular order: paneng curry, chicken satay, laad nah (thick stir-fried noodle) fried quail, papaya salad, duck curry and volcano hot plate ($3.50-$15.95). Hours: Tues-Thurs 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Fri 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sat noon-10 p.m.; Sun 4-9 p.m.

This is a nice resturant with great food. There is actually some extra seating in the back also so it is slightly bigger than what the author states.. The wait-staff is nice and knowledgable of the food. I HIGHLY suggest the Crying Tiger dish, its a nice prime cut of beef on a bed of vegetables whit a sweet, yet slightly sour flavor dressing.
