Dan Jacobs is leaving one animal for another. The Wolf Peach chef has given his notice at the Brewers Hill restaurant (1818 N. Hubbard St.), whose kitchen he’s helmed since its 2012 opening. Later this month, Jacobs will make his debut with the ensemble cooking cast at Odd Duck (2352 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.), where he'll share a kitchen with a load of talent – co-owner Ross Bachhubar, and Paul Zerkel and Lisa Kirkpatrick. Zerkel and Kirkpatrick are also in the midst of opening Good Kind (2457 S. Wentworth Ave.) with the owners of Burnhearts. As for bringing Jacobs into the fold, Odd Duck's Melissa Buchholz thinks it'll bring "new fire and blood" to the kitchen. For his part, Jacobs, who's "super grateful" for his tenure at Wolf Peach, is excited to work with the Odd Duck crew and be in this "open box" of creativity. Taking Jacobs' place at Wolf Peach is sous chef Cole Ersel.
