La Vie en Rose
Edith Piaf Onstage at the Broadway Theatre Center Jan. 25-Feb. 10

A year ago, Leslie Fitzwater was forced to cancel her show, Edith Piaf Onstage, when she was diagnosed with cancer. But Skylight Music Theatre is more family than business, and Artistic Director Bill Theisen said the show would be rescheduled. That time has come, which means one of Milwaukee’s most beloved musical performers will bring the great French chanteuse to life on the Cabot Theatre stage. Going solo in the Skylight’s main venue is no easy task, but Fitzwater has played (and sung) characters ranging from Golda in Fiddler on the Roof to Desiree (“Send in the Clowns”) Armfeldt in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music. Fitzwater last performed the show in 2007, but this iteration features added songs and a four-piece band.

Edith Piaf Onstage (Jan. 25-Feb. 10). Broadway Theatre Center. Cabot Theatre. 158 N. Broadway St., 414-291-7800, skylightmusictheatre.org.
