The Milwaukee Brewers serve up a midwinter reminder of summer this weekend with their “Brewers On Deck” fan festival.
The annual one-day On Deck event – set for Sunday at the Delta Center – features a full slate of activities and events, including kids-only question-and-answer sessions with players, a live auction at 1:10 p.m., and a “Milwacky Squares” game show with famed announcer Bob Uecker at 1:45 p.m.
Fans can also get autographs from more than 50 players, coaches and Brewers alumni from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Although 13 players will sign free autographs, signatures from the team’s heavier hitters – like Ryan Braun and Rickie Weeks – will cost up to $25 (cash only). Proceeds benefit the team’s charitable efforts through its Brewers Community Foundation.
Looking to spend your money on tailgating attire instead? In advance of the On Deck event, the team introduced a new gold jersey to its lineup of alternate game day attire, and those jerseys will be on sale at the festival. The jersey features “Brewers” in blue script across the front and is the first addition to the clubhouse closet since the team introduced the alternate blue “Milwaukee” jersey in 2010.
And if one new jersey isn’t enough, the results of the team’s “Design a YOUniform” contest will be announced at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday. The winner gets a trip to spring training to see his or her jersey design in action.
Doors to the facility open at 7 a.m. The exhibit hall will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
