Music Notes DJ
Join us Friday night for a local music set at Blackbird Bar.

We here at Music Notes do our best to highlight the Milwaukee music scene with our limited parcel of Internet. Friday night, we’ll have a rare opportunity to take our appreciation of local music beyond the constraints of html coding, stepping away from the keyboard and, instead, getting behind the turntables to serve as DJs for an evening of Milwaukee music.

In October, we wrote about Blackbird Bar’s new “From the Stage to the Booth” DJ series, which allows area bands to provide the Bay View tavern’s soundtrack every Friday. Now it’s our turn. Joe Guszkowski, our fearless leader Abby Callard and I will highlight some of our favorite acts in town (past and present) between 10 p.m. and 2:30 a.m.

Moreover, we’ll be raffling off three prize packages with T-shirts, records, CDs, tapes, stickers, buttons, gift certificates and more from the likes of: Pabst Theater, The Fatty Acids, Temple, Myles Coyne & The Rusty Nickel Band, Old Earth, Animals In Human Attire, Crappy Dracula, Midwest Death Rattle, Ugly Brothers, WC Tank, Soul Low, Fable & The World Flat, Dope Folks Records, Hugh Bob & The Hustle, The Championship, Lakefront Brewery and, of course, Blackbird Bar.

Come on down and enjoy some of Blackbird’s 90-plus Wisconsin beers and page through the December issue of Milwaukee Magazine with a locally sourced soundtrack provided by Music Notes. If you have any requests, feel free to leave them in the comments.
