Milwaukee’s transitional hip-hop scene goes largely uncovered in town, but during his time here, Milo was one of the more prevalent points of pride in the local rap realm. Sadly, Milo recently packed up and took his smooth intellectual rhymes and obscure pop culture references to Chicago (see the first portion of the opening sentence). Before he departed, Milo shot a music video for “Ecclesiastes” from his 2013 mixtape Cavalcade.
The video – directed, shot and edited by WC Tank, who isn’t a stranger to starring in music videos either – features Milo working up a sweat doing pull-ups and skateboarding at Bay View’s South Shore Park, wading in a stream and partaking in a Classic Slice pizza party in the back of an ambulance with Milwaukee emcees (and tour mates) Safari Al and Brandeaux Calrissian. The video gets extra points for the perfectly timed use of Roman candles.
Milo will headline The Penobscot Expedition Showcase (under the name Scallops Hotel) at Borg Ward on Saturday, November 16 on a bill also featuring Standard Diary (WC Tank and SMRL), Safari Al, and Nedarb Nagrom. The show starts at 8 p.m. and costs $5.
