Mequon’s Zarletti
Gearing up for an Italian addition to the North Shore.

Brian Zarletti’s Mequon restaurant-to-be – Salotto Zarletti (1515 W. Mequon Rd.) – will be a “much bigger animal,” the restaurateur says. The restaurant will not duplicate the vibe or menu established at his Italian place Downtown, Zarletti (741 N. Milwaukee St.). The North Shore resto will serve pizzas (baked in a wood-fired oven) and pastas, appetizers and entrées. The second floor will host private parties and banquets, as well as be a space for overflow diners. And yet, this sizable endeavor will have an intimate first-floor dining room – that’s Zarletti’s intention, anyway. “Salotto” is Italian for “living room.” Estimated opening? February 2014. More details to come.
