Adopt-a-Pet.com has created an interactive map that allows future pet parents to see all of the pet shelters and rescues in the Milwaukee area, giving homeless dogs and cats a second chance at a forever home. The locations include local Humane Societies and several different rescue organizations such as the MidAmerica Rottweiler Rescue.

Adopting pets is often less expensive than buying a puppy or kitten from a breeder. It also gives you the chance to find an older pet, which can be handy for families who don’t have the time or carpet-cleaning capacity to deal with a pre-potty trained puppy.
