Lakefront Brewery will launch its Imperial Pumpkin 25th anniversary beer this Saturday night (8 p.m., to be exact). Wait, that sounds like fodder for Brew City? Not so fast. It’s not the only thing happening at Trocadero (1758 N. Water St.) this Saturday. Two hours before the beer launch is a cocktail dinner that combines elements of pumpkin and spirits. The kitchen staff – including sous chef Brad Clark – are doing a five-course menu with Lakefront Brewery and Great Lakes Distillery that sounds like a fine lead-up to the tapping at 8. For the low, low price of $60, you get five courses paired with various beers and a “Smashing Pumpkin” beer cocktail. The courses include seafood risotto (mussels, shrimp and calamari); and grilled hangar steak with roasted marbled fingerling potatoes, haricots verts and espresso demi-glace. Dessert is pumpkin spice bread crumble with honeyed cream cheese quenelle, fall spice crème anglaise, caramel sauce, and a Pumpkin Spice Truffle from Indulgence Chocolatiers.
